Marina was born in Cairo, Egypt and has lived all over the world. She graduated from the Penn State College of Medicine in 2016 and is currently testing her Program Director's patience as a first-year emergency medicine resident at the Vidant Medical Center. In her free time, Marina enjoys baking and eating, running (very slowly and only so she can eat more food), being overly competitive at board and card games, and hoping that if she procrastinates long enough on wedding planning, her fiancé will just do it himself.

Nicole is a recent graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College who decided to head West after graduation and spend a year doing research in Colorado while exploring all of that magical state's wild wonders. He acquired substantial clinical and basic science experience while working in pathology, internal medicine, emergency/trauma, and critical care. Mari was born in San Diego, raised in North Carolina, completed her undergraduate education as a Banana Slug at UC Santa Cruz, and spent a few years teaching high school in Oakland, Calif. She then decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a doctor and was thankfully accepted into the “pioneering class” of the combined MD/MPH program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Ali Kimyaghalam

Ali was born in Iran and migrated to New York City about 15 years ago. He graduated from Cornell University Undergrad in 2009 as a business/biology major and opened a consulting firm in Dubai. He finally decided to go to medical school and attended American University of Antigua School of Medicine. He is currently a first-year general surgery resident at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown Ohio. A book nerd, Ali is always studying and trying to impress his PD with board scores (key word: trying). He likes to play tennis and soccer even though he is not very good.

Ujjala Kumar, MD

Originally from Detroit, Ujjala earned her medical degree in 2006 from Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed an internal medicine residency in 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Ujjala is currently teaching in the internal medicine residency program at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit while she completes a masters of public health degree at George Washington University. In addition to her busy work life, she enjoys her full-time job as a mother of three kids and loves running, swimming, and engaging in adventurous sports with her family.

Sheel graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Florida campus with the dual degree of Doctor of Osteopathy and Masters of Health Service Administration in June 2016. He recently started a general surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit. Sheel hopes to subspecialize after completing residency. His research interests are pediatrics and trauma. Sheel's hobbes include art and painting, bike riding, and traveling.

Originally from New Jersey, Jonathan moved to Philadelphia in 2011 to earn a master's degree at Drexel University. He stayed on to enter medical school and is now a fourth-year student.
