Sam Fuller, MD A Chicago native, Sam is currently completing his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Prior to residency, he attended the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Spanish and pre-professional studies, and then attended the University of Chicago for medical school. Sam is a sports enthusiast and novice foodie. |

Joshua Imakyure Joshua is from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in molecular and cell biology. After graduating from the Chicago Medical School, he began a residency in emergency medicine at Brooklyn Medical Center. When not studying, Joshua enjoys snowboarding, ice hockey, cooking, and the piano. |

Kachiu C. Lee, MD Kachiu grew up in Rockford, Ill., and attended the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, a high school focused on fostering a love for the sciences. There, she discovered her desire to pursue medicine and enrolled at Northwestern University for her undergraduate and medical school education. She is pursuing a career in dermatology with research interests in dermatoepidemiology. In her free time, Kachiu likes to read, swim, and hike. She has a personal life goal of camping in all of the national state parks in North America. |

Mitra Afshari Mitra is originally from Glenview, Ill., and attended Northwestern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biomedical engineering. She is currently an MD/PhD candidate at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Mitra’s public health interests lie at the interface of global health, biomedical engineering, and medicine as she continues to do field research abroad for a group out of Northwestern University that is developing point-of-care, rapid medical diagnostic tools for the developing world. Mitra intends to continue this work well past graduation despite eventually applying for residency in neurology, her second love. |

Ravi Bamba, MD Ravi grew up in New Orleans. He traveled up the Mississippi River to go to Washington University in St. Louis for college, where he graduated with honors in biology and a minor in ultimate frisbee. He graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 2010 and is currently in residency in the department of internal medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center. |

Manali Bhave, MD Manali graduated from Northwestern University’s Honors Program in medical education, a seven-year undergraduate and medical school combined program. In addition to earning her medical degree last years, she has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a minor in business institutions. Manali is a resident in the internal medicine department at Northwestern University and hopes to pursue a career in gastroenterology, while continuing to pursue her interests in academic medicine. |

Daniel Butz, MD Dan was born and raised in Green Bay, Wis., and completed his undergraduate education at Edgewood College. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and is currently a resident in plastic surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. |

Benjamin Caplan, MD Ben is a family medicine resident at Boston Medical Center. After earning his undergraduate degree in psychology at Williams College, Ben worked as a staff researcher at the UCLA Brain Mapping Center, where he authored several neuroscience publications and helped launch the international Human Brain Project. Apart from the medical world, Ben is a concert cellist of 25 years, a world traveler, and a performance magician of 18 years. |

Shinn-Huey S. Chou, MD Shinn-Huey earned her undergraduate degrees in bioengineering and biochemistry from the University of Washington, after which she attended and graduated from Chicago Medical School in 2010. After completing a transitional year internship at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Virginia, she returned to Seattle for her residency in radiology at her alma mater. |

Jonathan Erlich Jonathan grew up in Boston and attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated with degrees in psychology and biology. After graduating, he spent two years researching the causative factors of congenital heart disease at the Washington University School of Medicine. Jon is now finishing his medical education at the University of Chicago and will be applying into emergency medicine. Jon's hobbies are traveling, riding his bike, and intramural sports. |

Philip Eye Philip grew up in Baldwin, N.Y. Four years after being accepted into Boston University’s seven-year medical program, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and medical sciences. Phil is currently a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and a medical student at Boston University School of Medicine. He plans to pursue a residency in neurology upon graduation in 2012. In his spare time, Phil both studies and teaches kung fu. |

John Gilbert John grew up in Lexington, Ky., and attended Duke University in Durham, N.C., graduating with Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology with a concentration in neuroscience. He is currently a medical student at Yale School of Medicine and will graduate in 2012. John is broadly interested in brain and behavior, which may include residency training in neurology, neuroradiology, psychiatry, or neurosurgery. Only time will tell! |

Jose Luis Gonzalez Jose was born and raised in sunny Miami, Fla. He attended Johns Hopkins University where he learned what a neuron was for the first time, and ultimately earned his undergraduate degree in neuroscience with a concentration in systems neuroscience. Jose will be graduating from Yale School of Medicine in 2012, and with a passion for the brain he is strongly considering residency in neurology. When time allows, he enjoys going Latin dancing. |

Mark Jensen Mark is in his fourth year at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. In his spare time, he likes to play hockey and does his best to stay out of the penalty box. Off the ice, he tutors inner city students in math and science and likes to travel when he can get away. After medical school, Mark plans to follow his father and grandfather's footsteps into anesthesiology. |

Michael King, MD Originally from Naperville, Ill., Mike studied molecular biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After some time as a research assistant in Versailles, France, he joined the class of 2011 at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. He is currently completing his internship year at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and will start residency in anesthesiology next year at Massachusetts General Hospital. Neil Mehta, MD Neil grew up in Kansas City and attended Washington University in St. Louis for his undergraduate education. He graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering, after which he worked for a year for Stereotaxis, a cardiology device company based in St. Louis. After finishing his medical education at the University of Chicago, he began his anesthesiology residency at the University of Colorado, Denver. |

Cesar Raudel Padilla Cesar was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a second-generation Mexican American. He dropped out of high school but managed to get a scholarship to a community college and ultimately graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in biological sciences. He plans to become an anesthesiologist and specialize in critical care. Cesar hopes to serve the Latino community in California as well as in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he has spent his summers since childhood. He has helped the University of Rochester School of Medicine reach out to the local Latino community by coordinating mock interviews with Spanish-speaking standardized patients. Cesar is an avid fútbol fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter Elena. |

Anil Pandit, MD Anil is a fellow in cardiovascular diseases at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. After graduating medical school he spent a few years in Nepal as a practicing physician before venturing to the United States. He has done research in high altitude medicine and typhoid fever, and has survived two internships in the United States. Anil joined USMLE-Rx in 2006 and hopes to continue working with the team in the future. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his wife and learn economics. |

Tanvi Patel, MD Tanvi grew up in the San Francisco bay area. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion and disease prevention with a minor in art history at the University of Southern California. Tanvi then studied at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. Upon graduation she began a residency in diagnostic radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
